Building Insurance Information

Under the terms of your shared ownership lease it is Heylo’s responsibility to arrange the buildings insurance for your home – unless you are buying a flat and the insurance is arranged by the management company and paid for through your service charge. The policy does not cover your contents.

When you completed on your purchase you will pay an apportioned insurance premium from the date of your completion until the end of the current policy period.  The current policy runs from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.  For all existing customers, a premium is added to your monthly payments.

For policies arranged by Heylo Housing, the current insurance policy is with Allied World Assurance Company and the details are as follows:

Aspray have been instructed by Heylo to manage all insurance claims and therefore if you wish to make a claim you should contact Aspray direct using the contact details below. 
If you live in a flat, or the insurance is arranged by the management company, if you need to make a claim on the policy you should contact the management company for the details of your insurance policy.

Claims can be made from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

There are claim excesses related to the following items which you would be required to cover in full. Heylo will not pay or contribute towards these.

Standard excess: £150

Escape of water excess: £200

Subsidence excess: £1,000

Material damage caused by tenants excess: £150

Fire, lightning, aircraft, explosion and earthquake excess: £150
