New Build Home Warranties

New build warranties are designed to offer buyers peace of mind that any defects in their new build home will be put right. But, while new home warranties typically last 10 years, sometimes it is not always clear as to what is and is not covered by the warranty. 

With any new home the developer (house builder) is responsible for fixing any defects that come to light in your home for the first two years from handover of the property.  From year 3 – 10 years, major defects should be covered by the building warranty provider.  The best-known providers in the UK are National House-Building Council (NHBC), Local Authority Building Control Warranty (LABC) and Premier Guarantee.
