Are you keen to add solar panels, an EV charge point or another sustainable addition to your home but are unsure how to get permission from Heylo to do so? We want to make the process as easy as possible for you so that you can make improvements to your home that reduce your impact on the environment easily and simply.

To obtain permission, please complete our alterations application form where you will be required to submit the following:

  • Details and plans of the intended work
  • Details of any planning permission or building regulations required
  • Details of building contractors and an explanation of the works being completed
  • Copy of consent from the original builder (if the property is still under warranty)
  • Copy of consent from the management company (if your property is a flat)
  • Copy of the agreement with the supplier if you are not buying them outright

Once your request has been received, we aim to respond within 5 working days. The more information that you are able to provide in the application, the easier and quicker it will be to process your request so please do take the time to provide as much detail as you can in the application.

Are you feeling unsure of whether the sustainability alteration that you are wanting to make requires our permission? Some examples of works that would require our permission include:

  • Installing solar panels and/or electric vehicle charge points
  • Replacing your boiler or installing new central heating systems
  • Replacing external doors and windows
  • Replacing or upgrading any electrics
  • Making structural alterations (such as moving walls or adding extensions, including conservatories and loft extensions)

Still feeling unsure? You can take a look at our Alterations and Improvements Policy or get in touch with us to find out more.
